Keep on truckin’.

We’re currently in Auburn. Still doing a lot of dirt. Weather is getting hotter so we’re looking into switching to more pavement so we don’t kill Simon, who has been a real trooper. Going through Death Valley is definitely out. Yesterday afternoon we went through Yuba City, which is the biggest place we’ve been in ages — tons of aggravating stoplights!

Miles logged after 20 days: 3,263… and I’m starting to feel every single one of those miles.


The redwoods have been my favorite part of the trip. I never cease to remain in awe of them.

The Soda Creek store at Lake Pillsbury was home to a ton of cats. This one was the friendliest cat I’ve ever encountered.

This is what happens when you forget you have side bags. I was riding the rut when I rammed into the fence thingy and nearly tore the bag off.
